SMC for Researchers

We support media in their reporting about scientific issues and specifically address journalists with our offers. As an intermediary, we work together with researchers and scientists on the one hand and journalists to inform the public on the other.

Your work and expertise as a scientific expert is important for all of us, because the expertise in diverse scientific disciplines is essential for society, such as in health, the environment, technology and energy.

Your domain specific expert knowledge is the urgently needed raw material for democratic decision making.

Our mission at the SMC is to make that raw material publicly available through journalists. Shortly after having send them to the journalists, all expert statements are fully published in the section 'our offers’ on our publicly accessible website. Thereby, we document exactly what you have said and make your expertise available to journalists for future background research on topics of interest.

We specialize in keeping an overview of the public issues on the daily agenda in science and the media. We know what is behind the headlines, when science will make headlines and where scientific expertise is missing.

We try to ensure that your expertise and knowledge is heard and to bring perspective into topic. After editorial review by us, your assessments, whether as video, audio or text, are made available unaltered to all media professionals accredited by us.

This way, we bring together science and journalism. Thereby, we can inform society in a timely, comprehensive and well-founded manner – focussed on the most relevant public issues.

Benefit from our work, become part of the team of experts! Please send us an email to redaktion@sciencemediacenter.de with the following relevant information:

  • Which research institution you work for,
  •

  • what your main research topics are and
  •

  • where you see your special expertise.
  •

We will then get in touch with you.
