Oliver Schlömer

Oliver Schlömer is an editor for climate and environment at the SMC. Previously, he worked as a data journalist at FAZ in Frankfurt, where in 2023 he and the data journalism team received the Hessian Award for Young Journalists for an analysis of the expansion potential of wind power plants. His particular interest lies in the analysis and visualization of environmental and climate data. He holds a master’s degree in geography and earned his doctorate at the University of Bonn with a dissertation on sediment structures in river systems.
