Declaration on the accessibility of the website

This website aims to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
2.0. WCAG 2.0 defines requirements to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. At  https://www.sciencemediacenter.de/ ,  we are committed to providing an accessible website that complies with level AA or higher of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. We strive to provide equal access to information and services for all user groups, including people with disabilities.

We have implemented the following accessibility features on our website to improve
usability for people with disabilities:

Navigation shortcuts: Each page begins with a clear menu that allows you to jump directly
to the main content. Sighted users navigating with the keyboard will see these links on the screen when they press the tab key. All pages contain a link to the homepage, a search box, a standardized top-level navigation.

Structured, semantic markup: HTML heading tags (from to H1-2) are used to convey the
structure of the document, with H1 being used for main titles and H2 for subtitles.

Alternative text for images: Most of the images on our website contain alternative
descriptions. Visualized graphics have alternative descriptions. We regularly identify and update previously created images that may not yet contain alternative descriptions.

Font sizes: You can adjust the font size on our website to suit your requirements
via your browser settings. Ctrl and + or - is a standard toggle function in most browsers.

Screen resolution: The website is designed so that it can be displayed on a variety of
devices and with different screen resolutions.

We regularly use tools to check our website for accessibility issues and opportunities
and make accessibility an important part of our website improvement schedule.

This declaration was prepared on June 13, 2025.
